Mary Adeyinka Adepoju

I am a passionate multidiscipline Research Scientist, holding a PhD in Post-Harvest Technology and Food Safety. Beyond the lab, I am a proud entrepreneur, juggling multiple thriving ventures. I own Martella Treats, a cake and confectionery business; Martella Foods, a food packaging enterprise; and Martella Emporium, a fashion outlet—all reflecting my drive for creativity and excellence.

I am also a published author, and my debut book, Single and Waiting, is a guide and source of encouragement for single individuals waiting for marriage. The book inspires readers not to pine away during the waiting period but to embrace it as a time for self-development, growth, and impactful achievements. It also offers insights that resonate with married readers, making it a resource for everyone striving to live a purposeful life.

Following the release of my book, I felt a deeper yearning to create a platform where individuals could freely express themselves, share their stories, and inspire others. This vision gave rise to this Let’s Rub Minds (LRM), a community of great minds—young and old, male and female, married and unmarried. It is a space where positivity is nurtured, values are upheld, and individuals are empowered to foster a better society.

In my spare time, I enjoy singing, listening to music, dancing, writing, and spending moments of quiet introspection. While I used to love traveling, I have unintentionally slowed down, focusing on balance and self-care—a work in progress, as I sometimes struggle to pause amidst my busy schedule.

I’m a warm, resourceful, and fun-loving individual with a touch of sarcasm. I balance the fine line between introversion and extroversion, leaning more toward my introverted side. Helping others brings me joy, and I thrive on building meaningful connections, even as I navigate the delicate art of slowing down and enjoying life’s quieter moments.

My Book:

Single & Waiting

This is a book that encourages us not to fritter off opportunities or pine away our life, or be sad, and angry and ask ‘why me?’

Single & Waiting’ answers some of the questions that marriage counsellors ask candidates in pre-marriage classes about what steps they have taken to achieve their marital dreams

It’s an easy read that comprises just 7 chapters which take us, whether you are single or married, male or female, through life’s journey, spiced up with the Author’s experience.

This book will help singles who are waiting for marriage to embrace their current state, change their perspective, appreciate this phase, and harness it adequately for self-development and value-addition. Even married couples will glean wisdom from the book because the book teaches developing appropriate life principles and values.

Meanwhile, this book is not only for unmarried women or men but also for parents, siblings, relatives, and friends. It is a must-read for the youth and parent groups, schools, churches, facilitators, and pre-marriage counsellors who will find in the content a treasure trove.
